November News

Wednesday, October 7, 2015 - 14:01

We look forward to seeing you at our Parent Teacher Conferences November 14 and 16!  This 15 minute block is a time reserved for your child’s teacher to share information about how your child is doing so far this year as well as for you to share concerns/joys with the teacher.  You can sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher by going to our Royal Oaks website:  Thank you for coming to these conferences! Your support of your child’s education is greatly appreciated.

As you know, the information that is shared with you at these conferences is very important, and your input is valuable as we work together to assist your child in growing academically, socially, and behaviorally. Please contact us any time via email or phone throughout the year with concerns and joys about your child’s education.

This year we will have two Read and Feed times during conference week, Wednesday, November 15 and Friday, November 17.  You are invited to eat with your child and go to the Book Fair before or after your child’s lunch time.

Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring a fun Fall Party on Friday, October 27! Also thanks ahead of time to our PTA for sponsoring the Book Fair during conferences as this is a great way to have our students/families purchase books at a very reasonable price. Thank you, parents, if you worked at the fall party or will be helping with the book fair.  Your volunteering is greatly appreciated!

As you know, we have already had our first snowfall and cold weather and there will be more to come of course!  Children will go outside every day unless the temperature is below zero and/or the wind child is 10 below zero.    Please plan to have students go outside every day as we make this determination right before the first recess at 10:45. This means students should always come with winter gear: winter coat, gloves/mittens/, hat, scarf, snow pants and boots (when there is snow OR just to stay warm!).

Thanksgiving Break will be Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24.  Friday, December 1 there will also be no school for students since teachers will be involved in professional development. Enjoy this time with family and friends!
